Jah Militant
Active since 1998, Ras Weeda, selector and operator of the Jah Militant sound system, is part of the tradition of cultural sound systems, broadcasting conscious reggae and a vector of unity. Focused on the message and the music, it is throughout France and Europe that Jah Militant has been spreading its vibrations for more than 25 years now, mixing dubplates, productions, exclusive tracks and militant selections.
Also a producer for two labels (Jah Militant and Back in the days), Jah Militant is at the head of a sharp and original catalog reflecting a spiritual and committed reggae.
I-tal Soup & Danman
I-TAL SOUP is an independent record label founded by Petah Sunday and Mighi Tsadiq in 2013. The music production is directed by Petah, a multi-talented musician and producer who handles the compositions,
arrangements and mixes, playing and recording most of the instruments at I-tal Soup Studio. The label’s musical style is UK roots sound system oriented, with militant steppers riddims, heavy bass lines and cultural lyrics. The executive production is currently managed by Ninjahdread from 10000lions sound system .
Since the first release in 2014, Ital Soup music gained
popularity by being played on the most legendary sound system as Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti , Channel one sounds ystemand many more,and collaborating with important artists names as Akae Beka , Pablo Gad to name a few.
As a performer Ital Soup has featured in differents events around Europe and India touring the most important festivals and venues, staging with a live show that consists of a 100% dub plate showcase filled with exclusives, unrevealed productions and upcoming releases, toasted live on the mic by the veteran Jamaican superstar Danman MC.
In addition to the official releases, I-tal Soup has been
working with countless international producers, providing mixes, musical arrangements and instrumental performances with its distinctive trademark.
Claston Brooks, known as Danman aka Sunny Voice, is a Jamaican-born musician with over 20 years of international experience. Born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, he moved to the UK at age 11, where his musical journey began, including playing bongo drums in a revival church.
His recording career started in 1995 at Hudawi Centre, leading to collaborations with Andy Black of Big Noise Productions and joining Iration Steppas Sound System, with whom he released his debut 10 » vinyl, Too Much War, and toured Europe, but also Indica Dubs the heavyweight track Righteous Man.
Impressa Sound & Alexis
Impressa (aka Sista Emma) has been a respected selector on the UK sound system scene for years, bringing righteous selections with an important message for one and all. From humble box lifting beginnings, she grew with knowledge and skill to one day build her own sound. Through hard work and determination, she has now completed phase 1 of her sound system with more to come. Impressa Sound System is one of only a handful of female-run sound systems active in the UK today.
Alexis, a vocalist originating from the Freedom Masses stable in Manchester, now working independently in the UK sound system scene. After the explosive release of her first solo single “No Regrets” in 2023 (Roots Addis Muzik), you can hear more of her sweet vocals & conscious lyrics at UK festivals and sound system sessions. Some of her 90’s work with Freedom Masses is available now on Subdub’s double album Digital Africa.
Ital Power & Benji Roots
Ital Power music is a record label and studio founded in 2009 by M.Ital and Ital Shash from west London.
Alongside the music, came a Soundsystem.
Salomon Heritage & Tenah
It all started in the mid 90’s when Roots Arna began to collect record vinyls and specially Jamaican Roots Reggae Music .
As part of the Reggae, the UK Sound System Culture became his main influences to be a Conscious Music Selecter .
After been part of many different Music Collective and Sound System, in 2009 Roots Arna decide to create his own identity: Salomon Heritage . Salomon Heritage build an Home Made Sound System characterize by a Warm and a Clear Sound .
SH became also a Record Music Label access on the melody and the Spiritual Music, that collaborated with many different Producer/Artist like Kibir La Amlak, Murray Man, Prince Jamo, King General, Aba Ariginal and Ras Tweed.
SH Record label have now a large catalog of Maxi’s and LP’s that have been played by many Sound System and Radio Show Internationally (Jah Shaka, Channel One, David Rodigan...)
Roots Arna have being touring all over the world (Europe, USA, Jamaica...) to spread through his Musical Selection the Conscious and Spiritual Message.
Tenah - a rub-a-dub deejay/singer, musician, and producer from the outskirts of Marseille, draws his inspiration from roots and Jamaican rub-a-dub.
Active on the French and European dub scene, he has performed at events such as Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), Island Station (France), Dubquake (Switzerland), and Stand Firm (Belgium), among others.
Currently involved in various projects as a singer and musician, he collaborates on tracks with labels like 1988 Records, Pure Niceness, and Odyssée Records. He also produces for his own label, Hatta Sounds, launched in 2021, where he creates and operates the faders under the name Prince Treety.
Sasha Steppa
Sasha Steppa is a dynamic sound system selector from Bristol, renowned for her selections across reggae, roots, and dub. Since launching her brand in 2012 and soundsystem in 2022, Sasha has quickly made a name for herself on the global stage. Her resume includes performances at events such as Rototom Sunsplash, International Dub Gathering, Dubquake, Boomtown and Glastonbury where her sets have captivated audiences with her deep, authentic vibes.
Sasha’s talent and passion for the genre has also led her to make history as the first women to bring her soundsystem and share the stage with the legendary Channel One Soundsystem at Bristol’s own Teachings in Dub, further cementing her reputation as a key figure in the reggae and dub scene.
Whether she’s selecting music on her own soundsystem or collaborating with other iconic acts, Sasha Steppa continues to push the boundaries of reggae music, bringing her unique performances to audiences around the world.
Sistah Queen Sheeba
Sistah Queen Sheeba is based in the Netherlands with roots from North Africa, Surinam & India. She started going to dub events in the late 90’s where she established a profound love for Rastafari and Reggae music.
Since around 2009 she began making her own music and since 2016 she started up her own studio Sheeba Sound Studio. She always loved singing so it just came natural for her to voice her own riddims.
She is bringing sounds off Jah lightning and thunder to spread awareness in this prelious times and to uplift one and all with her versatile selection & upfull vibrations inspired by the most High HIM.
Nga Han with Roots Unity
Jamaican Reggae vocalist Nga Han and Producer Uta Maruanaya of Roots Unity Music first meeting was at an Earl 16 concert late 2019 in Holland. Working in similar musical circles, eventually led to sessions together at Earth Works Studio, where Uta was the vinyl dubplate cutting engineer. It was during this period that “The Living Stream : Chapter One” LP was voiced, recorded and released on the Roots Unity label. Followed by subsequent 7” & 12” releases, and a blooming partnership with the Tetra Ark Records label in releasing the recent “Temple In Man” EP, which will be showcased at HIM Dub Festival, along with a very special presentation of “The Living Stream : Chapter Two” album.
Nga Han, a roots spiritualist from Green Hill, Jamaica, is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist blending nyabingi drumming with ethereal reggae melodies. Starting as a poet inspired by Louise Bennett, his musical journey evolved from performing at a school talent show to producing dub music with Dub Rishis in Washington, D.C. Relocating to California, then back to Jamaica, he refined his unique style, leading to collaborations with international producers and artists like Addis Pablo. Nga Han has released four acclaimed albums, including the chart-topping Temple in Man. He has performed globally at festivals like Reggae Geel, Dub Camp, and Wickie Wackie.
Roots Unity is a record label/production house from holland consisting of a team of singers and players of instruments brought together by Uta Roots Unity aiming to bring hight quality uplifting and inspired original roots music.
King Alpha
King Alpha, a distinguished dub producer and musician from the UK, has significantly influenced the reggae and dub music scenes. Throughout his career, King Alpha has collaborated with various artists and labels, contributing to a rich discography that showcases his versatility and commitment to the genre.
Brizion
Brian “Brizion” Zanchetta is a composer, producer, musician and dub artist born in San Diego, California “Roots Capital - USA” . Working professionally in music production, audio engineering and live dub performance for nearly 20 years. His music production company and record label Dubstrand Music began publishing original music in 2004.
Brizion utilizes a unique method of performing live . His live dub station is essentially bringing the studio to the stage. Replicating the quality and dynamics of a recording studio mix in real time in a live performance environment . With a customized and unique set of equipment, this performance can fit into any environment including a full sound system, live band, hybridized or minimal setups. With the ability to adapt to any situation, Brizion performs solo, with featured singers, horn players, live drum-dub setups, and full live bands. Brizion has shared the stage with legends like the wailers, black uhuru, don Carlos, lutan Fyah, Israel vibration, roots radics & more.

Earl Gateshead
Earl’s career began in the late 70s, when he built his own Sound System, one of the first built by a European. Earl had a 23 year weekly residency at The Dive Bar, Soho, London.
In 2000 Earl began to organise and perform at a series of events called “Reggae Nights” at seminal London club “Plastic People.” This legendary series of concerts received worldwide attention, with performances from international legends such as Alton Ellis, Dennis Alcapone, Sugar Minott, Cutty Ranks, Adrian Sherwood and Saxon Sound System. The success here gave Earl a huge boost in profile, leading him to be one of the most sought-after Reggae DJs in the world. He went on to tour Europe and Australasia with Big Youth, Dr Alimantado and Cutty Ranks amongst others.
In 2003 He was asked, together with his friend Daddy Ad by Trojan Records, to create the world renowned Trojan Sound System. For twelve years he toured the world as selector and front man for Trojan Sound. He left the sound 5 years ago, to play on his own.
Mysterious graffiti artist Banksy asked Earl to D.J the first three exhibitions of his work. Earl is still the only D.J that Banksy has ever worked with.
Earl has become a figurehead in UK Reggae. He was invited to lecture at the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in São Paulo.
In recent years Earl has completed five extended tours of India, where, together with his brothers from Ten Thousand Lions Sound System, he is attempting to bring Reggae to the world’s most populous country. He plays every year at Goa Reggae Festival (Sunsplash) which is the centre of the rapidly growing Indian Reggae scene.
Dub Shepherds
Based at the foot of the Chaîne des Puys mountains, Jolly Joseph and Doctor Charty have been crafting an authentic roots/rocksteady reggae sound inspired by the great masters of the genre from the BAT Records Studio for 15 years now. Reggae is in their blood.
Their uncompromising “Hardmix” approach to mixing and Jolly Joseph’s high pitched vocal performances are the key to their success. With four albums under their belts and a wealth of live experience in the company of drummer Jahno, the Dub Shepherds have earned a reputation as one of the few groups to distinguish themselves brilliantly in the art of producing and playing these historic roots and dub sounds.
Dub Weed Roots
Created in 2000 by a group of four friends (Nokas, Gonçalo, Peixe, and Luís), the composition of Dub Weed Roots changed over the years due to the unavailability of some of its members. Nokas and Gonçalo remained, and they welcomed into the collective one of Portugal’s most knowledgeable individuals about reggae culture and its music, Carlos Quintão A.K.A. “DreadRecords.” Since early 2006, Dub Weed Roots reopened its doors to Luís, reuniting to form what has often been considered by many as the number one Roots Reggae Soundsystem in Portugal. Much of this reputation is owed to DreadRecords, whose microphone sessions evoked what some described as “a true Jamaican Roots Rocker.”
They have shared the stage as selectors with numerous artists, including Don Carlos, The Congos, Black Uhuru, Abyssinians, Finley Quaye, Julian Marley, and nearly all national artists.
Don Fe
Don Fe, a reggae musician originally hailing from Coleraine, County Derry, has journeyed through life, music, and culture, leaving an indelible mark on the reggae scene. Born in Ireland, he soon after moved to the UK. His upbringing in the vibrant musical landscape of Liverpool that truly nurtured his musical talent and on moving to Brighton he fully immersed himself into the reggae scene.
After years of honing his craft in UK, Don Fe set his sights on new horizons, ultimately making a significant move to Spain in the early 90s where he lived for over 30 years. There, he threw himself in the diverse and multicultural world of reggae, both as a flautist and a producer. His time in Spain allowed him to blend
reggae’s traditional roots with contemporary influences, crafting a sound uniquely his own.
In 2022 Don Fe returned to his Irish roots, settling on the picturesque west coast of Ireland. This return to his homeland has not only rejuvenated his musical spirit but also brought new inspiration to his work and allowed him to spend more time on his label Jah Catalyst as well as producing and recording with
and for other artists and labels.
His music and concerts featuring live flute continue to resonate with audiences worldwide, carrying the spirit of reggae and the rich experiences of his journey. With a career spanning several decades and over 100 records released, his eclectic background and unwavering dedication to reggae, Don Fe remains a celebrated figure in the global reggae community. His music serves as a testament to the genre’s universal appeal, bridging cultures and spreading messages of unity, equality and positivity.
